Reinvent your wardrobe with the top 5 ACCESSORIES of spring 2015
Accessories
can elevate any outfit. At the beginning of a season we have the
tendency to evaluate our closets, and then deciding what to throw out
and what to add on. The best advice given to me was to find out what the
seasonal trends for accessories are, before making any changes to your
wardrobe.
I
have collected information on the latest trends for accessories of
spring 2015 and will highlight the 5 which stood out the most for me.
- Shoes
Shoes
are every girl’s best friends. The stiletto shoe has been the favorable
shoe for most women during the past few seasons. However I have noted a
blockier heel amongst shoes, especially the boots in winter and there
for the comeback of the
- 70’s inspired -Platform sandal came as no surprise to me.
- Espadrilles are back in full swing. Flats are always the most comfortable shoes to wear during warmer weather. I would like to shine the spotlight on the espadrilles made of crochet fabric. It is super light and comes in various colors.
-Gladiator sandals are synonymous to the ancient Greeks and Romans, and have become the “it” footwear. They are sexier than ever. A lot of celebrities were spotted recently wearing these sandals.
2. Bags
When
buying a bag this season, take in consideration that the sling will be
short or very, very long. The two shapes which stood out the most for me
are the round bags and the boxier (shaped like a box) bags. We will
take a break from the infamous Clutch for a while.
3. Necklaces
Necklaces
are bold and beautiful. Statement necklaces were seen everywhere on the
red carpet at the Oscars 2015.The images of Cate Blanchet, Scarlet
Johansson, Viola Davis, Margot Robbie to name a few, are still fresh
memories.
A
statement necklace can draw attention to your face and hair, and not so
much to your body, there for it can be the ideal accessories to add at
times when we don’t feel the most comfortable with our bodies.
4. Hair accessories
Hair
accessories have many variations. From very big eye-catching details to
finer and elegant pieces .The good news is that you don’t need to wait
for a Coachella to decorate your hair. Anytime is the right time.
5. Bangles/Bracelets
Making
a statement is everything this season and now is the time to stack the
bangles and bracelets. You can stack as many bangles as you like,
depending on your personal preference. Go big or go home. The spotlight
shines on the cuff-like bangle made of leather and metal.
Remember
less is still more; try limiting the amount of different accessories
per outfit. E.g. When you decide to decorate your hair with accessories I
will suggest you do not wear a statement necklace too. I have read
these years ago, by wearing too many different accessories per outfit
can make you look older.
The key is to ACCESSORIZE with PURPOSE
-When
you want to accentuate a part of your body e.g. a belt for a slimmer
waistline, a statement necklace to accentuate your features, high heel
shoes to elongate your legs.
-When you want to elevate an outfit.
-When you want to show the versatility of an outfit by transforming it from daytime to nighttime.
-When you know you cannot do without accessories and it can be fun using them all…..
